B+ was an elite-level mixed club Ultimate team that existed from 2000-2004, qualifying for nationals three times and finishing as high as semifinals (3rd place). After 2004 and a disappointing 7th place finish at nationals, the team disbanded, although the 2005 mixed team Gorilla Foot included many B+ players and won regionals en route to a terrible showing at nationals. The core has since scattered to many different teams and cities - Bnogo, Potomac, Truck Stop, Ring of Fire, PoNY, Brute Squad, Mischief, Black Molly, Amp, and others.

The history in short: B+ was basically a summer pick-up team of North Carolina college kids in 2000 and 2001. We had no success whatsoever in 2000 (0-6 in our first tournament), but fared a little better in two tournaments in 2001, losing in semis and quarters to the likes of then-defending national champs Spear and soon-to-be national finalists BRU. In 2002 (when most of us were college seniors), we entered the fall championship series and qualified for Nationals as the 14th seed, finishing 10th and missing quarterfinals by two points. In 2003, we switched sections from NC to DC, as many of our players graduated college and moved to the DC area. We won our section but finished a disappointing 2nd at regionals, giving us the 9th seed at Nationals. In Sarasota we played much better and finished 3rd, losing in the semifinals to eventual (repeat) champions Donner Party.

In 2004, we had a very successful season leading up to Nationals, winning all four tournaments that we sent a full team to from late July through early October, including sectionals and regionals. With a 22-1 record in those four tournaments heading into Nationals, we had a lot of confidence and a very dangerous team that we hoped could more than justify our #2 seed. Unfortunately, we lost one pool play game on Thursday, which bumped us into the lower pools on Friday. We fought our way back into quarters only to face the most dominant team at the tournament thus far, Brass Monkey, and lost a classic back-and-forth battle with them 15-13. Then we tanked a meaningless placement game. A disappointing finish to be sure.
